Planets, orbits and interiors

Explore the worlds

Inferno builds its worlds from grids of scenery. Select a place on the map, then orbit the neighbourhood in 3D. Try a populated planet, a lunar installation or the interconnected rooms inside a base.

Drag to orbit. Shift-drag to pan. Scroll to zoom.

What is being shown?

These are stored scenery layouts, including layers used for orbits and interiors. The display uses a modern inspection renderer. It shows the initial scenery, without the game’s moving actors, mission events or altitude-dependent colour blending. Empty space and empty orbital layers are valid parts of the data.

The game draws its ground background separately from scenery. The ground backdrop adds a flat surface in that palette colour so isolated terrain markings have context. It is an inspection aid. The repeatable choice of scenery variants helps comparisons here. A running mission may choose another variant after other parts of the game have advanced its random sequence.
